On June 17th, we had a regular meeting at Namba Citizen Center. Online participants from Australia, India, New Zealand etc. were projected on a big screen in the room. We felt as if they had been in the meeting room, and we were able to have lively communication.
The theme of the meeting was 'Connection'. Childhood memory when a member got lost and how happy she was to be finally found and hugged by her father. A man who kept encouraging his depressed friend. Heartwarming relationship between a member and her mentor. Intangible gifts a member got from her mentor and her determination to serve as a mentor for a new member. All three prepared speeches truly touched my heart. I can't thank enough to our guest speaker, TM S. from Malaysia.
In the impromptu speech session, our Table Topic Master entertained the participants with various questions related to connection.
The installation ceremony of new officers was conducted by Area Director TM T. Thanks to his creativity, the ceremony successfully completed in high spirit.
I felt so blessed that I'm connected with these wonderful people.
6月１７日OCAT難波市民学習センターにて定期例会が開かれました。オーストラリア、インド、ニュージーランド等からのオンライン参加者はプロジェクターの大画面に映し出され、臨場感バッチリ。まるでみんな一室に集まっているような感覚でコミュニケーションができました。
ミーティングのテーマはConnection。迷子になった時ようやくお父さんに会えて抱きしめられた時の嬉しさ、苦しんでいる時に手を差し伸べてくれた友人のこと、メンターとの心温まる交流、メンターから受け取ったかけがえのないもの。３本の準備スピーチは実に心の琴線に触れるものでした。ゲストスピーカーを快く受けてくださったマレーシアのトーストマスターSさんには感謝してもしきれません。
即興スピーチの部では、スピーチマスターがConnectionに関連した楽しい質問を繰り出し、参加者を楽しませてくれました。
そして、特記すべきはわれらがエリア長のクリエイティブで気分の上がる役員就任式！しっかり次期役員にバトンが受け渡されました。
こんな素敵な人たちとつながっている幸せをしみじみかみしめた日でした。
