トーストマスターズの楽しいセッション
準備スピーチ、いわゆるフォーマルスピーチは、私たちの定例会のメインディッシュ！スピーカーは5〜7分間のスピーチを披露するために、うちで何度も練習してくるんです。そのスピーチからは本当にたくさんのことが学べます。
でも実は、もう2つのセッション「テーブルトピックスセッション」と「論評（エバリュエーション）セッション」も、とっても大事なんですよ。
テーブルトピックスセッションでは、1人のメンバーがみんなに質問を投げかけて、当たった人がその場で2分間の即興スピーチをするんです。急にお題が出されて、すぐに考えをまとめて話すのって、なかなか大変！でもこの練習が、プレゼンや面接など、いろんな場面で役に立つんです。
それからエバリュエーションセッションでは、フォーマルスピーチを聴いたあとに、2〜3分でスピーチの良かったところやアドバイスを伝えるんです。これも簡単そうに見えて、けっこう難しい！スピーチをしっかり聴き取って、そのメッセージを理解し、さらに気の利いたアドバイスを考えなきゃいけないんですから。でも、この経験を重ねることで、自然とリスニング力とスピーキング力がグングン伸びていきます。
今日は、そんな大切なセッションを練習する特別なミーティングを開催しました！9人のメンバーが参加して、経験豊富なメンバーたちがセッションをリードしてくれました。
テーブルトピックス、フォーマルスピーチ、エバリュエーション、それぞれ違った力が必要だけど、練習と経験を積めば、確実に上達していきます。

The Importance of Each Session in Toastmasters Meetings
Prepared speeches, or formal speeches, are the main course of our regular meetings. Speakers deliver five to seven-minute speeches, practicing them repeatedly at home. We can learn a lot from their speeches.
However, the other two sessions—the Table Topics Session and the Evaluation Session—are also crucial. In the Table Topics Session, one member asks questions to the group, and the selected person gives a two-minute impromptu speech on the spot. It’s quite challenging to organize your thoughts quickly and deliver a speech immediately. But this practice can be very useful in many situations, such as presentations and job interviews.
In the Evaluation Session, after listening to the formal speeches, members give a two to three-minute evaluation. This isn’t easy either. First, you need to understand the speech by listening carefully, grasp its message, and then provide constructive feedback. Through this process, you naturally improve both your listening and speaking skills.
Today, we had a special meeting to practice these sessions. Nine members attended, and experienced members led each session.
The Table Topics Session, the Formal Speech Session, and the Evaluation Session all require different skills. It takes time to improve, but with continuous practice and experience, your abilities will surely grow.
