今年も、トーストマスターズのインターナショナルスピーチコンテストがはじまります。スピーチコンテストは、トーストマスターにとって、日頃の練習の成果を競う最高の舞台であり、素晴らしスピーチを聴ける最大のチャンスです。
クラブレベルコンテスト→エリアコンテスト→ディビジョンコンテスト→ディストリクトコンテスト→世界大会へ・・・と続いていきます。
そして、今日の例会では英語スピーチにクラブ代表で参加されるお二人、YさんとKさんがスピーチのお披露目がありました。
Kさんのスピーチは職場での困難をみごと乗り越えたお話でした。人間関係の悩みは誰にでもあることで、エリアコンテストでも彼女のスピーチは多くの人々の共感を呼ぶことでしょう。
一方、Yさんのスピーチは独特の世界観があって、思わず引き込まれてしまいました。彼女のよさが十分引き出されていて圧巻のひとこと。エリアコンテスでも観客を引き付けること間違いなしです。
スピーチの楽しさ、素晴らしさは、わたしのつたない言葉では伝えきれません。

This year, the Toastmasters International Speech Contest has started. The speech contest is the best stage for Toastmasters to compete and showcase their daily practice results, and it is the greatest opportunity to hear wonderful speeches. It continues from the club―level contest to the area contest, division contest, district contest, and then to the world convention.
In today's meeting, two club representatives, Y and K, participated in the English speech contest.
K's speech was a magnificent story about overcoming difficulties at work. Relationship problems are something that everyone experiences and her speech is likely to garner much empathy at the area contest.
On the other hand, Y's speech had a unique worldview, and I was drawn in. Her strengths were fully drawn out, and it was a remarkable performance. Undoubtedly, she will attract the audience at the area contest.
I cannot fully express the joy and magnificence of the speeches with my limited words.
