The 287th regular meeting in August 2025.

2025年8月16日(土)午後にHybrid形式で、なにわトーストマスターズクラブの287回例会を開催しました。

今回は大阪難波の教室を中心に豪州、日本の他地域をOnlineで結んでHybrid形式で開催でした。前回も参加頂きましたTM Rさんが今回はOff-Line参加して頂けました。日本のお盆の習慣を肌で感じて頂けたのではないかと思いました。

また、287回例会の前に''Welcome Lunch会''を開催して新規入会のTM I san、TM Kさんの歓迎会もできました。TM I san、TM Kさんは、お二人とも海外生活を経験されており、その経験をIce break speechして頂きました。海外での御苦労の一端をお二人のスピーチから感じ取ることができました。さらにwelcome Lunchi会で短い時間ではありましたがメンバーの近況報告や情報交換もできて、とても有意義な時間でした。 例会の前でしたのでアルコールは控えたことは、少し残念でしたが、また次回の楽しみに残しておきます。このように、なにわトーストマスターズクラブには、他にも海外経験豊富なトーストマスターズが在籍されており、英語のスピーチ力を磨くには、絶好の機会になるのは間違いありませんし、英語以外の語学が堪能な方もおられます。是非、例会に参加してみてください、楽しいですよ。

This year's event was held in a hybrid format, centred on a classroom in Namba, Osaka, with Australia and other parts of Japan connected through online. TM R, who participated last time, was able to participate off-line this time. I thought he was able to experience the Japanese ''Obon'' custom first-hand.

We also held a ''Welcome Lunch Party'' before the 287th meeting to welcome new members TM I san and TM K. Both TM I san and TM K have experienced living abroad and they gave us ice break speeches about their experiences. We could feel a part of their hardships abroad from their speeches. The welcome lunch was a short one, but it was a very meaningful time for the members to report on topics, exchanging information.

It was a little disappointing that we refrained from drinking alcohol because it was before the meeting, but we will leave it for the next time. As you can see, there are other Toastmasters in the Naniwa Toastmasters Club who have a lot of overseas experience, and it is definitely a great opportunity to improve your English speech skills, and there are also people who are fluent in languages other than English.
